The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on nearly every area of life, from health to economics to social factors. Education is no exception. The impact made on our youngest learners, who are developing their literacy and learning skills may be the deepest. They have not yet formed the foundation for their learning, and so need the most guidance, which may be lacking during school shut downs and remote learning. The gaps in learning caused by the pandemic will shape their educational experience for years to come.
