The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on nearly every area of life, from health to economics to social factors.  Education is no exception.  The impact made on our youngest learners, who are developing their literacy and learning skills may be the deepest.  They have not yet formed the foundation for their learning, and so need the most guidance, which may be lacking during school shut downs and remote learning.  The gaps in learning caused by the pandemic will shape their educational experience for years to come.

Body Paragraph(s):     Provide evidence to thoroughly support your Thesis Statement.

                                    Weave your evidence together with the connections you have made.

                                    Utilize In-Text Citations to show where evidence has come from.


Conclusion:            Make a final presentation of your main idea with how the evidence has supported it.


Reminders:            You are presenting a perspective, but not your personal opinion.  

                                Do not use personal pronouns (I, Me, We, etc.)

Blog One: Wonder Question

 What is a topic of personal and global significance that I might want to research? I wonder how the pandemic is impacting education both in the United States and also globally.  I am really interested in this topic because I am a teacher, but also because I have had the amazing opportunity to travel and work with schools in other countries as well.  I am especially connected to the country Liberia because our church helps support a school there and I have gone to do teacher training a few times.   Although there are many negative impacts on education because of prolonged school closures and less access, I also wonder if this time has inspired some new and creative education ideas, which in the long run will have a really positive effect.  I think there are always ways to learn and grow even in the most challenging circumstances, and I look forward to finding out some of the ways educators across the world are doing that.   Question: What are the ...
